40 Days of Renewal

Everytime the Feast of the Covenant is around the offing, our leaders in Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon, would give us this set of questions, reflections, to do's which they call "40 Days Renewal." This is actually the times wherein we are tasks to reflect as to where we are now in terms of our relationship with the LORD! Come to think of it, I have been in the renewal for 5 years now same with the age of my married life. Yes, we joined this Catholic community as a freshly married couple last October 2002, we got married September 2002! How time flies, yet if asked where am I now with my personal relationship with the LORD, it is still a work in progress, parang nagsisimula pa rin ako! Now, I'm actually happy that finally my husband agree with me that its about time to serve the community in a bigger perspective, when I say bigger meaning more challenging and more tasking...yes to the extent we gave another community that we actually been serving on the side for about two years now. Yes we did serve two communities at the same time, but God is soo soo good, kasi He wouldnt allow us to mixed up our schedules that time. Truly He is a God of Order! Yet, we need to give it up,because we opted to a far better and far demanding one. This service is called Discussion Group Leader in our Evangelization Ministry called Pathways...Actually, I dont even have the right to say DGL nakami kasi since it started in July 23, e floating pa rin kami har har har. Pero the good thing about this service is we were able to invite people to attend and assist them in their journey and respond to the call. At ang masarap pa nun we get to have a doze of spiritual nourishment every Monday's of the week, though we've heard it before and its so basic but it still get through us, as if hearing it for the first time again.

What amazes me is, each time we had this discussion group meeting after each talk, I get to hear how people had this hunger of trying to know Who God is, and How He impacted their lives and Why He had to die, etc. I got the chance also to hear personal trials, experiences, tribulations, physical pains and of all sorts- different versions different stories but jive into one conclusions God had called them and God is with them all throughout the journey they have.

Now this 40 days renewal, will keep us to go over what we have and what we will become in the future. Actually its not because we wanted to be covenanted member in the future, actually what is important for us, is how do we develop our everyday encounter with God, be it in the people we meet, circumstances we are at concerns that we have. It's actually our own personal relationship and journey with the LORD that matters. We are not pleasing our leaders but we need to honor the LORD our God who actually called us on this relationship.

How I wish I could be able to serve and know God better now. Good luck on this 40 days reflections!

My Scraplifted LO

This is one of my favorite LO I made, its a picture perfect of my daughter when she was only 8 mos. old. She was teething that time, with matching thumb sucking and salivating and evrything...hehehe.
